Bruce Brown Pool
When you find pools, it is always a crap shoot. Gambling. The odds are generally NOT in your favor. From disgruntled homeowners, neighbors, thugs, law enforcement and real estate people, we have an army of the wary and protective that are lined up against us. Periodically, the stars line up and things go pretty well. Sometimes a six pack of cheap beer, some Kevorkian, a twenty dollar bill or some skateboard gear will smooth ruffled feathers and keep the wooden gate open to the backyard. We’ve tried it all. Sometimes we win, other times not.
Samwise
This pool was found by Steve Alba. Foreclosure. He gave me the address and Samwise Gamgee and I went over in late May to drain it. There was a wooden cover over it. We pulled back an edge and slipped underneath. The pool had the mellowest transitions we had ever seen. Risk or not… this pool was worth it. We went to work.

The crew that had it to ourselves that weekend were, Badlands Chris, Michael Serna Jr., KB, Brandon Wong, Sam and myself. The pool lasted three weeks. New owners. A young family grows larger. The pool still sits. Swimmer. What lies underneath? The cool water hides the usefulness of that little plaster gem… I can wait. Thanks to Brandon Wong for the images & video clip. Skate- Ozzie
