Different

Today. Just another dawn. Nothing left to say or do… Things were once very different. Youth. Back then, I was a slave to every new taste and sensation. Time flies. An age of becoming. Jaded. The reality is never as good as what I can imagine. It is the same with everything. Relationships. People. All experience. When I was young, things were not like they are now. I suppose that the words of Joseph Campbell are indeed true. “Nothing is exciting when you know the outcome.” After a few years, I just do what I can to avoid pain. I build walls. I’ve become quite the mason. My walls are sturdy and tall. Defense. The tower… One thing has remained the same however. Skateboarding is always an exercise in discovery. When work, life, relationships or the mind-numbing conflict of human ego becomes enough and I want to put a bullet right into my brain, I grab my skateboard and roll around. It immediately takes me back to a time when skateboarding was my entire life, love and hope. Skateboarding puts me into a different mindset. Life becomes bearable again.
